Traditionally, big company announcements have been shared via press releases. Although press releases are still very relevant in today’s marketing world, some new strategies have surfaced which can be used to either complement or replace the traditional press release, such as blogs and social media.
Using your blog is a great way to make an announcement. Not only can it help improve your SEO, but you can present the information in your company’s own voice.
For example, last week Csek created a blog post about a recent achievement: being named in Business in Vancouver’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in B.C. While press releases are still important (we also wrote and released one for this), a blog post allows us to show more of our own personality.
Plus, once you’ve written your blog announcement, you can share it on your social media channels to spread the word!
This bring us to our next announcement-making-tool. Social channels like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and even Pinterest are affordable and effective ways to get your message out there, whether you’re sharing a blog article or just making a regular post.
Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and creator of Tesla, recently announced the new SpaceX spacesuit on Instagram where it received over 403,000 likes and 8,700 comments. Something really cool about delivering announcements over social media is that it can be very engaging and spark conversations.
Press releases aren’t dead, but they also aren’t the only way to make exciting announcements and get the word out there! Consider leveraging tactics like blogs and social media to multiply the impact.
