Csek Creative and its sister company DotCom Media have launched KelownaVotes.com to bring focus to Kelowna's Civic election with Social Media.
The website will feature Twitter feeds from all local candidates that are using social media in their election. The site will also feature profiles of all the candidates, their names, website, Facebook, Twitter, email and any other contact information they wish to share.
Social Media is a great way for the public to become more involved in the election process. The technology is in place to allow more dialogue with the candidates and the electors.
Csek Creative is willing to take it a step further, offering free Social Media training to any and all candidates so there are no excuses not to enter into dialogue with the public.
One of the biggest problems for civic elections is that the process passes so quickly that it is very hard to gather enough information to make an informed decision. You end up making decisions on very limited information due to limited access to the politician. By leveraging the power of social media, candidates can now reach out to individuals looking for more information.
Social Media can provide you with the connection with the candidates. You can interact, listen, and voice your concerns - all from the comfort of your home, workplace, or smart phone.
The City of Kelowna is promoting the hashtag, #kelownavotes and we are following in that line by promoting
KelownaVotes.com.
Social Media is not a fad, and it is not going away. We have seen it move mountains already.
