Csek Creative works hard to stay on top of the latest industry trends, and the impact they'll have on our clients. When Google gives us a heads up that changes are coming that they will affect the businesses we work with - we listen.
Google recently announced that it will be 'rewarding' businesses that have SSL certificates.
SSL Certificates are protocols that provide a secure connection between a user and the server—they are what make sites display as secure. You may recognize these as 'https://' in your URL.
Currently, sites without SSL's don't display any warning, but starting next year these sites will start to display as "Not secure.” This is the first step in the general move towards a more protected web.
The change will occur in stages, starting with HTTP pages that collect passwords or credit card information, but eventually, all websites without SSLs will be clearly marked as "Not Secure":
We will be reaching out to all of our clients over the next few months to make sure they are prepared for the coming changes.
You can see if your website is secure by visiting it in your web browser, and checking the for the little icon beside your website address.
If your site is not secure in Google's eyes, drop us an email, or give us a call at 250-862-8010 and we can get you set up. If you are an existing client, we can likely get it installed and running the same day you reach outl
